Jesus’s closest friends and followers were privy to his inner life and habits. Luke records that they asked him to teach them how to pray. The request is not just their but one that we too can ask. Jesus’s reply start with addressing God as Father.
This Sunday I want to reflect on what this meant in Jesus’s world and how his earliest hearers might have understood this. So how does the concept of Father inform our prayer lives and energise our relationship with God.
